NIPOST Edo Chaptter Strengthens Partnership with Edo State Police Command.
Benin City, Nigeria – The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) in Edo State has taken a major step toward improving security in postal operations by strengthening its partnership with the Edo State Police Command. This was confirmed during a visit by the State Postal Manager (SPM), Mr. Augustine Aleburu, and his management team to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimeyin.
During the visit, Mr. Aleburu praised the Edo State Police Command for their dedication and hard work in keeping people and property safe. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the police in fighting crime and maintaining peace, emphasizing that NIPOST highly values their efforts.
The main purpose of the meeting was to build a stronger relationship between NIPOST and the police, particularly in tackling security challenges that affect mail services. Mr. Aleburu pointed out that while NIPOST plays a key role in communication and business transactions, it also faces security threats such as mail theft and fraud. To address these issues, he stressed the need for police support in ensuring mail security, quick responses to emergencies, better logistics, and preventing illegal activities within the postal system.
In response, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimeyin welcomed the partnership and assured NIPOST that the police were ready to assist in tackling security problems affecting postal operations. She emphasized that a secure postal system benefits not only NIPOST but also the general public and the economy.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both organizations agreeing to work closely together to improve public trust and service delivery. The SPM expressed confidence that this collaboration would make postal services in Edo State more secure and efficient. As a symbolic gesture, NIPOST presented a copy of the official NIPOST Post Code to the Commissioner of Police.
This renewed partnership is expected to create a safer and more reliable postal system, benefiting both the people of Edo State and the country as a whole.
