Understanding the Prophecies of God Over Your Life

By Apostle Johnson Suleman

Prophecy is one of God’s ways of revealing His plans and purposes for His children. Throughout the Bible, we see God speaking through prophets to guide, warn, and encourage His people. However, many believers struggle to understand how God’s prophecies relate to their lives. In this teaching, Apostle Johnson Suleman provides deep insight into how to receive, interpret, and walk in the fulfillment of God’s prophetic words.

1. What is Prophecy?

Prophecy is the divine revelation of God’s mind concerning a person, situation, or future event. It is God speaking through His chosen vessels to give direction and instruction.

Biblical Foundation of Prophecy

2 Peter 1:21 – "For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

Amos 3:7 – "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets."

These scriptures show that prophecy is God’s way of communicating His divine agenda to His people.

2. How to Recognize a Prophecy Over Your Life

Many believers receive prophetic words but fail to recognize them or take them seriously. Here are some ways to identify a prophecy meant for you:

i. Through the Word of God

God’s written Word (the Bible) is the surest form of prophecy. Any prophecy that contradicts the Bible is not from God.

ii. Through Divine Encounters

God can reveal His plans through dreams, visions, or angelic visitations. Joel 2:28 confirms this: “Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

iii. Through Prophetic Ministers

God uses anointed servants, such as prophets and apostles, to declare His will. Hosea 12:13 says, “By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.”
