Another aspirant seeks for cancellation of Ondo APC gov primary 21st April 2024 By James Jeremiah A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Folakemi Omogoroye, has rejected Saturday’s governorship primary election, demanding its cancellation. Speaking on Sunday, the aspirant alleged that the election did not take place in many wards across the state. She called on the party’s national leadership and President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter. She said, ” President Bola Tinubu gave us women a renewed hope agenda that prompted me to go into the race with assurance that the election is going to be free and fair. “But to my greatest surprise, the reverse is the case.  The PUNCH reported that two aspirants in the election, Mr Wale Akinterinwa and Chief Olusola Oke have also condemned the process of the election, calling for its cancellation.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned that it is a criminal offence to obstruct officers of the Commission from carrying out their lawful duties… The warning is coming after the EFCC on Wednesday made an attempt to arrest the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello but met a brick wall of resistance. The EFCC operatives had on Wednesday mounted surveillance around the home of Bello on No 9 Benghazi Street ,Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, apparently to effect his arrest. The EFCC operatives retreated shortly after the sitting Governor of Kogi, Usman Ododo, who paid Bello a visit departed around 4.30 pm. It was, however, not clear whether Ododo, who had arrived the premises of Bello with his convoy around 2.30 pm went away with the former governor or left him behind.      His Excellency Yahaya Adoza Bello, the formal governor of Kogi State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday was granted a warrant by a Federal High Court in Abuja to apprehend Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State. The warrant was issued following an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC. In his ruling on the motion, Justice Emeka Nwite also directed that the former governor be produced before him on Thursday, April 18, for arraignment. He said, “It is hereby ordered as follows: Earlier, a Lokoja High Court  restrained  the EFCC from arresting, detaining and prosecuting the immediate past governor of Kogi State. Meanwhile, the incumbent governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, on Wednesday, helped the embattled former governor of the state escape arrest by operatives of the EFCC.
